When I first heard about the flurry of lip-synch odes to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” I hadn’t even heard the song on the radio or seen the video. But once it was out there in the world I couldn’t help noticing how it kept popping up … and that I didn’t mind. There’s something likeable about Carly and the song is perfect for summer - a pop tune with six lyrics to learn.

What’s even more likeable is this endearing clip of her singing the ubiquitous tune with Jimmy Fallon, accompanied by The Roots playing elementary school instruments. Sure, I’m a bit ‘old’ for this song and I feel silly bopping around to it in the car when it comes on the radio, but for the simple joy it brings I share it with you in this sweet unplugged format.
